Dark Patterns

FigJam

Purpose

Find an example of a dark pattern on the web. Reflect on its impact on the user and ethics in UI design.

Instructions

  1. Open the Figma Application (either in the browser or on your computer).

  2. Click on the Weekly Activities Figma project.

  3. Double-click to open the ✅ Week 10: Dark Patterns FigJam file.

  4. Follow the instructions in FigJam to complete the activity.

Submission

  1. Open the Week 10 folder in Blackboard

  2. Click on the Dark Patterns (FigJam) submission link.

  3. In the Comments box, type Done.

  4. Click Submit.

Grading Criteria

Points Possible: 4

  • Dark Pattern At least one example of a dark pattern was shared. (1 pts)

  • Answer to Ethics Question Thoughtful analysis of the dark pattern and its impact on the user was explained. Any ethics violations were explored in your answer. (3 pts)
