Rebrand it!

Download and view this website for a Music Festival.

In this challenge, you’ll rebrand the existing Music Festival starter website to reflect your chosen music style and atmosphere—without rebuilding or restructuring the project. You’ll keep the HTML exactly as it is (although, you can changes images), but you’ll tweak the design, colors, and language in the CSS and text content to give the site a unique identity.

What if the annual Music Festival wasn’t about a generic summer concert, but instead a smooth jazz fest, an indie folk gathering, a high-energy Electronic Dance Music (EDM) rave, or a classical symphony celebration?

1. Pick a style

Choose one of the sample festival themes below, or create your own music-inspired rebrand:

  • A vibrant electronic dance festival
  • A laid-back folk and acoustic gathering
  • A retro 80s rock showcase
  • A smooth jazz and blues weekend
  • A traditional classical music celebration

2. Download the Starter Site

Download the provided Music Festival starter website files. Make a copy of the folder and rename it RebrandItChallenge. You’ll work inside this new folder for your rebrand.

3. Rebrand the Website

Open the starter site files and make meaningful changes to match your chosen music festival theme:

  • Update the site title reflect your festival name.
  • Adjust the color palette in the CSS to fit your theme (e.g., bold neons for EDM, warm earth tones for folk, elegant blacks and golds for classical).
  • Replace the images (including maybe adding a logo or banner) to better match your theme.
  • Optional: Update the site text (or add text) to reflect your new festival name and music style (AI is good tool for this!).

❗ The layout and structure must stay the same.

4. Reflection

Create a new file called rebrand-reflection.txt or rebrand-reflection.docx and write a short reflection:

  • Describe your new brand or theme.
  • What made the rebranding process fun or easy?
  • What was challenging about applying your new theme to an existing structure? What, if anything, could have made it easier?
  • Did you have to compromise any ideas to make it work?

How to Submit

Zip up your new RebrandItChallenge website and upload it to the submission link in Brightspace under Challenges > Rebrand It!
